THE STRUGGLES OF JOB HUNTING...
We all know this feeling, applying to jobs and not hearing back for months.  I hope the tips I share below motivates you to keep pushing yourself in your job hunt.

1) IT WILL TAKE A LONG TIME TO FIND YOUR DREAM JOB.
A lot of the time we think we are going to leave university and step into our dream job. In reality, you will move around jobs and careers multiple times. Be thankful for this, the search for your dream job allows you to learn and understand what you want from a working environment.

2) NOT HEARING BACK DOES NOT MEAN YOU ARE NOT THE BEST CANDIDATE.
Most people get interviews now a days because of who they know. If you apply to a job and the managers old colleague applies, you are 80% less likely to get a call back in comparison to the old colleague. The key to this job application bullshit is to not take it personal, you may be just as qualified if not more. Keep pushing and you will get the chance to display your potential.

3) CONNECT CONNECT AND CONNECT.
Networking, referrals and connecting with successful individuals is key to finding work. Sites such as Linkedin are great for building new connections and staying in touch with old friends and colleagues. Never burn bridges, you never know when you'll need them.

4) EDIT YOUR RESUME EVERY SINGLE TIME YOU APPLY.
This is the most annoying and time consuming part of job applications. You should be changing up your resume every time you apply for a job. You want your qualifications to align with the job posting. Most employers, especially huge chain companies that we all die to work for do not have an HR team going through each application. Instead, they place you in a pool aka a robot tool that picks the most compatible resumes and then they access the top candidates.

Do yourself a favour and put your resume through a job scanner and see how compatible your resume is with the job positing. Ex. www.jobscan.co

5) ALWAYS APPLY, EVEN IF YOU DON'T MEET ALL REQUIREMENTS.
Have faith in your qualifications, a lot of companies will ask for 10 years of experience but if your resume is impressive they will give you a chance to display your potential. APPLY APPLY.
You can't lose from applying, so send in that resume and wish for the best.

All the best on your job search, whats for you will come your way.
