4 WAYS TO AVOID FINANCIAL FRAUD: STAY SAFE

Happy Friday and welcome to the last blog of the year!

Since it's getting close to the holidays, the scammers are out and ready to steal your coins!

Follow these steps and stay safe, smart and secure this holiday season.

See you in 2021!!!

1) Check your authorized vs. posted transactions

- Make sure you are not "accidentally" getting charged or getting charged twice for two transactions. Be aware of how much your spending on. During the holidays many representatives and cashiers are in a rush and can easily make mistakes. Pay attention!

2) Limit access to your personal information online

- Refrain from ordering online and savings your details onto your desktop. Reduce things like Apple pay to restrict scammers from gaining easy access to your card information. If the information is not there, hackers and scammers will move on to their next victim.

3) Place Spending Alerts for your payments

-Set alerts through your bank app to let you know when you have spent money. This will allow you to quickly alert your bank if a transaction is fraudulent. This will also allow your bank to block any false payments/vendors and/or give you a refund.

4) Review your bank account daily or weekly

- This is a habit I believe that everyone should have! Wake up and instead of checking Instagram, check your bank account. Make sure no false charges have been made and keep yourself aware and accountable for your spending and savings. This will save you from fraud, increase your savings and help you stay on track with your financial goals; especially when you continue to see an increase of money in your account.

Hope this helps!
